Museum photo-tour

The graining on this closet door and throughout the downstairs has been faithfully reproduced by Linda Croxson and Phillip Ward, who are among the foremost grainers extant today in America.

Mr. Ward, who was trained in England, and Ms. Croxson who holds a Master's Degree in Classics, have studied early graining techniques and have restored the graining at the museum to its former elegance.

They have worked on such significant restoration projects as the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond and the Hampton House in Baltimore County.
